Douglas Keith Rovang

Douglas 'Doug' Keith Rovang, 65, went to be with the Lord on December 1, 2024, at Central Washington Hospital. A long-time resident of the Wenatchee Valley, Doug will be remembered for his warmth and dedication to his family and community. A funeral service will be held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at 2 p.m., followed by a reception at the church located at 312 Palouse St. in Wenatchee.
Born on October 12, 1959, to Loren and Ellen (Clark) Rovang, Doug was the youngest of four children, growing up on the family's cherry orchard on Flowery Divide in Cashmere, WA. He excelled in FFA during his time at Cashmere High School, where he served as the Cashmere FFA Publicist. After graduating in 1978, he attended Spokane Community College and remained dedicated to his community through various local organizations, including the Washington Street Irrigation Association.
In August 1983, Doug married his long-time sweetheart, Deborah 'Debbie' Shaffer, in Wenatchee. He joined Les Schwab Tires in June 1980, overseeing the expansion of the truck center in East Wenatchee, and retired in 2014 after 34 years of service.
Doug enjoyed camping, fishing, and motorcycle tours, with cherished family activities including weekends at Cannon Beach and road trips in the family camper. He volunteered at St. Paul's Lutheran School and Church, where he loved interacting with the school kids and attending men's Bible study.
He is survived by his wife, Deborah; son, Kjord and daughter-in-law, Katherine; daughter, Megan and son-in-law, Gregory; and three grandchildren, Hailey, Oslo, and Owen. Doug is also survived by his brother, Greg Rovang and sister-in-law, Tamara. He was preceded in death by his parents, Loren 'Keith' and Ellen Rovang, in 1995; his brother, Mark Rovang in 2002; and his sister, Rebecca (Caputo) Rovang in 2008.
