Richard Cunningham Obituary

Richard "Rick" Duane Cunningham, beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2025, surrounded by his family. He was 59 years old.

Rick was born on Nov. 11, 1965, and throughout his life, he brought warmth, laughter and unwavering kindness to everyone he met. A devoted family man, he found joy in the simple moments - whether sharing stories over a home-cooked meal or offering words of wisdom to those who needed them. His generosity and love left a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Rick had an enduring passion for old cars. He also cherished his time on his motorcycle, enjoying the freedom of the open road.

Rick is survived by his daughters Amber Wake and her husband Luke Wake, and Rebecca Cunningham; his grandchildren Brayden James Burk and Ivy Monique Burk; his brothers Robert Norman, Jr., and his wife Malisa Cunningham, and Robert James Cunningham; his niece Madeline Louise Peacock; and his aunt Wilma Ashlock. His family will continue to cherish his memory and honor his legacy.

He was preceded in death by his mother Evelyn Geraldine Cunningham, his father Robert Norman Cunningham, Sr., his brother Kelly Lee Cunningham and his sister Ella Mae Cunningham.

A memorial service will be held at Little Zion Cemetery, where family and friends will gather to celebrate his life.

Though he is no longer with us, Rick's spirit will live on in the stories he shared, the kindness he showed and the love he gave. He fought a good fight throughout his trials, showing strength, resilience and unwavering determination. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
