It is with great sadness that the family of Linda Karen Beres announces her passing on June 19, 2023, in Phoenix, AZ, at the age of 69. Linda brought great joy to the world with her birth on New Year's Day, 1954, in Chicago, IL, and spent her formative years in Westport, CT.
She was predeceased by her loving parents Dr. Paul Beres and Adele Beres; and is survived by her devoted sisters, Susan (Adam) Schwartz, Mary Ellen Holden, Carol (Daniel) Strickberger, many nieces, nephews, and cousins, her Aunt Nancy Beres, best friend Brenda Scott, lifelong friend Julie Young, her Motel 6 family, and her neighbors.
Linda was a pioneer in spirit and life. She was a proud graduate of Hiram College and earned her master's degree from Springfield College. She spent her adult years in Arizona, first as a resident of Phoenix, then Maricopa, and finally in Concho, where she was living her dream. She was a creative artist, like her mother, Adele, and her chosen mediums were needlepoint and beading. She was a fierce lover and protector of dogs, especially Winchester and Peewee, who were like children to her. Her friends and family mattered most of all; these relationships are an important part of her legacy.
She left the world peacefully, after battling an insurmountable illness. Linda will be remembered for her self-reliant determination, strong will, and generosity; she is missed by all she touched.
