Tanya Bruner Obituary

Tanya Lee Bruner, 88, of Indianapolis, passed away at 9:25 am on Sunday, March 23, 2025 at Brownsburg Meadows, Brownsburg Indiana. She was born to the late Jacob Arthur and Mathel Louise Swindell on December 14, 1936, in Marion, Indiana.

Tanya graduated from Marion High School in 1954 and from Indiana Secretarial College. Tanya worked at various office management positions around Marion as well as with the federal government in Indianapolis and Dallas, Texas.

In life, Tanya had varied interests. She loved watching game shows, true life crime dramas, and airline crash documentaries. She enjoyed playing 500 and Euchre with her children as often as possible. She loved watching the Colts, golfing and the Indianapolis 500. Her passion was animals and supported many animal charities and rescue organizations. Tanya loved her children deeply and was loved very much by them. She will be truly missed.

Tanya is survived by her children Tamaira (Stuart) Murray, Mike (Kim) Bruner and Troy Bruner; her nephews Eric (Mary) Price and Chris Price, and niece Nicole Price; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sister, Nikki Lynn Schaffer.

Burial will be May 10, 2025 at Estates of Serenity Cemetery at 11:00 am. A Celebration of Life will immediately follow at Matter Park in Marion.

The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, you make a donation in Tanya's name to your local animal shelter.
