Glenna Cheffy Obituary
Glenna Marie Cheffy, 62, of Springfield, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Springfield Memorial Hospital, surrounded by loved ones.
Born on May 26, 1963, in Springfield, Illinois, Glenna was the beloved daughter of Bobby G. and JoAnn (Etter) Howe. From an early age, she was known for her big heart, quick wit, and the kind of smile that could light up any room.
Glenna had a deep love for animals and a spirit that was both kind and giving. Fiercely loyal and warm-hearted by nature, she rarely met a stranger and was always willing to lend a hand or volunteer when someone needed help. To her family and friends, she was the heart of so many moments - a devoted daughter and sister who could always be counted on, and whose compassion never wavered. Her career as an insurance adjuster reflected that same steadiness and care, as she took pride in helping people through difficult times.
Family was the center of Glenna's world. She adored being a mom and grandma and found her greatest joy in time spent with her daughters and grandchildren. She rarely missed a game, recital, or family gathering, always showing up with endless love, encouragement, and pride.
Glenna was preceded in death by her father, Bobby G. (Rowena) Howe.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Jeff; her children, Heather (Steven) Cheffy, Christina Phillips, and Bobby (Dawna) Howe; her treasured grandchildren, Abigail Jocis, Dalton Howe, Trenton Phillips, Addilynn Cheffy, Blakely Phillips, and Wyatt Phillips; and her great-grandson, Miles Montgomery. She is also survived by her mother, JoAnn Howe; her siblings, Vicki (Greg) Tanner, Bobby (Sandy) Howe, and Todd (Sara) Howe; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who will miss her deeply.
A Celebration of Life will be held on October 25 from 1pm to 4pm at the Elks Lodge 409 East Lake Shore Dr Springfield, IL, where family and friends will gather to honor and remember Glenna's beautiful life.
