Joyce Cohen Obituary

Joyce Cohen, 92, of Haverhill, passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at Prescott House Nursing Home in North Andover. She was born in Haverhill on April 4, 1932, daughter of the late Max (Mickey) and Clare (Gilman) Greenstein, the owners of Sinclair Shoe Company. Joyce was educated in the Haverhill school system and graduated from Haverhill High School with the Class of 1949. She received her undergraduate degree in the second graduating class of Brandeis University and earned a Masters Degree in Education from Salem State Teachers College. She went on to teach in the Haverhill school system for 50 years, much of that time at the Nettle and Tilton schools. Joyce is predeceased by her brother John Greenstein. She is survived by her son Steven Cohen and his wife Mindy Cress of Short Hills, NJ and her grandchildren Jeremy and Rebecca. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her Graveside Service on Sunday, December 8, 2024, at 2:00 PM in the Children of Israel Cemetery, 324 Middle Road, Haverhill. Arrangements are by the H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Homes, Bradford~Haverhill.
