Lundak R. Obituary

Lundak Eugene R. "Gene"

July 12, 1944 - October 15, 2025

Eugene R. "Gene" Lundak, 81, of Houston, Minn., passed away on October 15, 2025. Born July 12, 1944, in Cresco, Iowa, Gene dedicated his life to education, service, and uplifting others.

A lifelong learner, Gene earned multiple degrees-including a doctorate after his retirement -and spent most of his career teaching Math and Computer Science at Winona State University. He was also active in civic groups like the Lions Club, Odd Fellows, and Kiwanis, always ready to lend a hand.

Gene found joy in bowling and later in clowning, sharing laughter and kindness wherever he went. He was known for his generous spirit and willingness to help.

He is survived by his wife, Sherry; children, Steda and Levi (Kimberly); stepchildren, Terry (Laurie) and Larry (Tracey); brother, David; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rudolph and Irene, and brother John.

A Memorial Service will be held on October 24, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Cross of Christ Lutheran Church, with visitation beginning at 10 a.m.

Instead of flowers, the family requests that donations be given to the American Cancer Society.
