James "Punkin" W. Criss, 67, of Spencer, passed away peacefuly on Thursday, September 18, 2025 at the I.U. Health Bloomington Hospital. James was born on March 15, 1958 in Greencastle, Indiana to Ray Diamond Criss and Mary Ernestine (Denny) Criss. James went to Putnam County High School and had worked at the Cord Factory in Spencer, Indiana. James enjoyed making Native American Crafts like dreamcatchers and necklaces. He watched monster movies, enjoyed sculpting out of clay and couldn't wait to get the mail, every day. James is survived by his his brothers, Richard "Sonny" Arthur, Floyd Arthur, Lloyd Arthur, nieces and nephews, Brittnie Henry, Rebecca Helms, Devin Criss, Melody Arthur-Ramirze, Richard Byron Arthur, Rodney Terrell, Daniel Terrell, Lisa Terrell-Gerstorff, Scott Arthur, Rob Arthur, Jim Bud Arthur, Amber Lynn Criss, great nieces and nephews, Gabriel, Autumn, Zoe. James was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, Carol Sue Arthur, Charles Arthur, Rebecca Criss, Vernon Criss, Jim Bud Criss and niece, Barbara Terrell.
