Edward Newsome Obituary

Edward Earl Newsome, of Rockford departed this earthly life March 1, 2025. He was born February 13, 1952 in New Hebron, Mississippi the son of Melvin Sr. and Delma Mae Newsome. Earl lived in Rockford, for 50 years coming from Pinola. Edward was employed at Warner-Lambert, before retiring. He graduated from New Hymn High School.
Edward leaves to cherish many loving memories, his four daughters Carla Newsome. Malisa Smith, Adrienne Meeks, Veronica Meeks ; his three sons, Craig Newsome, Terry Russey, Marcus Meeks ; seventeen grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; five sisters, Carolyn Walker, Betty Moore, Delois Magee, Loretta Hamilton and Kinyetta Jones; brothers; Thomas Newsome, Walter Newsome and Mikel Newsome; a host of nieces nephews, cousins other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by parents, Melvin Sr. and Delma Mae Newsome, son Craig Newsome, son in law Bobby Smith, his brothers; Melvin Newsome Jr. Howard Newsome and four sisters, Doris Helen Newsome, Annie Hooker, Urickia Newsome, and Doris Newsome.
