Doris Evans Obituary
Doris Jean Cheek Evans, 88, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2024. She was born on April 15, 1936, in Surry County to the late John Wesley Cheek and Ticy Wood Cheek. Along with her parents, Mrs. Evans was preceded in death by her husband, James Edward Evans; her infant son, James Daniel Evans; her brothers, Joseph William Cheek, C.W. Cheek and her sisters, Clair Edwards, and Annie Mae Maas. Surviving are her children, Anita (Danny) Fuller, James Wesley Evans and Angela Bullin; her grandchildren, Michael Bullin and Stephanie (Aaron) Rider; great-grandchildren, James Rider and Emily Rider; and sister, Marie Niemiec. Per Mrs. Evans request the family will conduct a private graveside service. Gentry Funeral Service in Jonesville is serving the Evans family.
